Tremendous! That's one big hull. Is that the standard Meranti that comes with the CNC kit or did you upgrade? It looks like beautiful wood.

I prefer to use both. If it's the heavy biaxial tape, first break down the edge with your grinder, sander or whatever you'd like. Next, use a fairing compound of thickened epoxy/microballoon mix to feather the edges in to the hull, then finish by sanding the whole thing to end up with a nice transit...

GuestUT, I've never been in the Cheap Canoe, but I've hunted and fished from canoes in the past. I actually like the canoe as an all-around boat. It's light, transport is easy, maneuverable, most are usually easy to handle when you're alone. For duck hunting, you don't have to worry about large boat...

Just some opinions, Umlaf has a good idea. If money is tight, you could start with something like the FL-11 or GV11 and add a motor later. Start out as a row boat, add a trolling motor and finally, a gas motor. A canoe is a great idea if it's just two people, but after fishing for years from a canoe...
