I just wanted to say that a closely fitting yoke could cause neck injuries if ya happen to trip. I don't know of anyone who portages without padding.

Yeah, feather the edges before fairing. All I did was knock off the sharp ridge and I went in as little as possible, probably 3/8". A clear finish like varnish will make the weave less noticeable than paint if you don't want to fair.

That looks good. Practice how you're going to lay the tape where the chines meet the bow (stem) before wetting the surface.

Let the epoxy cure, or dry overnight. Depending on the temperature it will be tacky for hours. Working the epoxy in with a roller can cause foaming, especially if ur aggressive, but don't worry about it too much right now.
