That looks awesome. Now I want to build one too.
I just wanted to say that a closely fitting yoke could cause neck injuries if ya happen to trip. I don't know of anyone who portages without padding.

Yeah, feather the edges before fairing. All I did was knock off the sharp ridge and I went in as little as possible, probably 3/8". A clear finish like varnish will make the weave less noticeable than paint if you don't want to fair.

Just tape off the area with tape or sticky paper, draw outline with a pencil, then razor out the area to remove being careful not to cut into the base coat. This is a far better method than using a loose stencil. But you all probably know th...

That looks good. Practice how you're going to lay the tape where the chines meet the bow (stem) before wetting the surface.
I must say, I enjoy looking at all the pictures you're posting. Keep up the good work.

Let the epoxy cure, or dry overnight. Depending on the temperature it will be tacky for hours. Working the epoxy in with a roller can cause foaming, especially if ur aggressive, but don't worry about it too much right now. Also a small amount of the fibers in the fabric can be picked up away from th...

I wouldn't bother glassing your canoe if it's already painted, just enjoy it as it is and save the glass for the next boat you build. I doubt you'll suffer a catastrophic hull failure unless you ram into something. I was more thinking the seems will weep eventually, that's all. You'll be able to bai...
