Re: 1984 Wind River Challenger
Finally dropped the boat in the water this weekend. I still have some work to do to finish up the teak, and mount the push pole holders, but other than that she's pretty much finished. Thanks again to everyone here for the great information!! Wiring's a pain...or was it installing the trolling motor...

Re: 1984 Wind River Challenger
haha, good catch. That's the way it was set up when I originally got the boat. I got used to working the trim like it is, so no big deal. Was kinda wondering if it could be swapped around though. I did try to leave enough room between the controls and the tab switch, in case I get the "right&qu...

Re: 1984 Wind River Challenger
Making some progress. Trim tabs, and jack plate installed, and got the engine hung. I've got most of the hardware mounted, but still have a few odds and ends to finish up. Almost got everything done on the console last night, but ran into a snag with the Tach. The mounting plate on the back wasn't l...

Re: 1984 Wind River Challenger
Thanks. It's the grey kiwigrip. I used the same process that Shine used for his FS17 low sheer. Used the spreader with the smallest notch to spread it out evenly, then used the provided loopy roller.

Re: 1984 Wind River Challenger
Took some comp time from work today and was able to finish up the KiwiGrip. We just barely had time to get it down and get the tape off, but we did it, and I am very pleased with the way it came out. Hard to get good pix in the garage. All those hours of taping the last few evenings paid off. It's f...

Re: 1984 Wind River Challenger
Wow, time flies when you having fun sanding. Haven't done a good job at updating, but wasn't too much to show until now. Finally, no more sanding. Did I mention, NO MORE SANDING... The Sterling Paint is amazing. Stressful, but amazing. I ended up with 4 coats of Ice Blue on the hull, and 3 coats on ...

Re: Central Florida Phantom 16 Build
Chopperman, I'm right across the Interstate from you and I am having the same issues with dust. Might be related to the time of year. There sure is a lot of pollen in the air. I went as far as putting plastic up in the garage. Put plastic over the side door and taped an air conditioning filter in it...

Re: 1984 Wind River Challenger
Wow, got side tracked for way too long on my project, but have been back at it and thought I would post some updates. Sorta shifted gears, and decided to finish the interior before painting the outside of the hull. Started off by installing the sole: http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/20760/...
