Re: GF16 10 YEARS LATER

Sorry for the late reply. I would not recommend oyster rocks for the bottom of a GF16, standard build, like mine. But, I do run aground most often in the middle marsh and I haven't seen any damage. The reinforced bottom sounds like a good idea. For running around and simple stuff like clamming she i...

Re: GF16 10 YEARS LATER

Well it must have just been the builder(s) of the vessel(s).

But you are right, the hook is minimal. I think it might run better when I'm alone if it wasn't there. I have to keep a 10 gallon water jug in the front hold.

GF16 10 YEARS LATER

Hello everyone: It has been quite some time. Just thought I would let everyone know that after 10 years the old GF16 is still running like a dream. She is at Harkers Island NC and spends her time flounder gigging and clamming in the back water. For those of you who don't know, Harkers Island locals ...

I secod Larry's comment on putting the battery forward due to the GF16 needing a little weight in the front. I wish I could have placed my battery up there, but I have an electric start motor. So , I split the diff and put my battery in the middle. I keep a 40 l. bag of sand in the front. I'd like t...

Pastor Bob: On my GF16 I used a 1 1/2 strip ripped from a piece of 1 inch Pine. Then, (This is the part that defy's wisdom) I took a piece of standard closet rod and ripped it in half. I laminated that half over top of the pine. The closet rod gave a nice rounded finish to the rubrail. I did the str...

Since my boat still tried to porpose at WOT after installin a doelfin, I took a more technical approach and placed a 40lb bag of sand in the bow. All was well in the world after that.

NICE ANCHOR LOCKER.

I was scared to do aything with that part of the boat due to it being such a structural component.

Looks great.

YD, At this point I would buy a 5 gallon bucket and mix it all together then paint the whole boat with the product. But seriously, I got all my paint for free so my boat is Bright White High gloss eurothane. Cessna white I think. It has it ups and downs like any color you use. In bright sun I have t...

I wouldn't taper them because when you are running at a good pace, the back of the boat is all that is in the water.

Mine came loose on a day when I probably should have stayed home. I was running from a storm in some extremely choppy water for about 6 miles. The boat took a pretty good beating. The next week my dad was doing his normal inspection of my projects and noticed the starboard runner was pulled away abo...
