Re: Cracker Larry's OD 18
Larry, I see what you mean, I had the exact same problem the last time I changed props and had to move the motor up again. I had to cut a new hole farther away from the motor to take the load off the cable, and I had to move the cable up 2" higher on the side. Larry I also have an idea for anot...

Re: Cracker Larry's OD 18
Larry, I was just going through some of your old posts and happened to notice that you lost 300 RPM when you installed the new hydrafoil. 95% of the time that means that you need to move the motor up one more hole to get your RPM and speed back up where it was. Hydrafoils allow you to move the motor...

Re: Macs' Carolina Dory Splashed
Thank you Larry and Tom, I stop by regularly just to see what is happening but I just don't say anything. Tom I hope everything is going well with carondelet, and Larry I was wondering if you are still on the way to getting your Surveyors license. I have been doing a lot of reading on fluid dynamics...

Re: Macs' Carolina Dory Splashed
Macs, that is a very beautiful boat you have built and I know how proud you are of it. If your motor has a 1.85:1 gear ratio as I show, please verify this , then it is impossible for your motor to turn 4,100 RPM and attain 27 MPH, that would be Negative prop slip and that is impossible. Either your ...

Larry, you might be interested in getting one of these, as it will let you know instant fuel use at all times as well as total fuel used at all times. Knowing the most fuel effiicient speed will help you save a bundle of money every time you use the boat. Northstar F210 http://i369.photobucket.com/a...

Re: GV11 Plus needs Hydrofoil, Trim Tabs or ... ?
Steve, a hydrafoil is the worst option there is for helping the stern to stay up and the bow down. The reason is even with smaller slower boats it ats like a seesaw as it is in the enter of the boat in faster installations and boats with more deadrise it an enhane any possible hine walking from fast...

Re: GV11 Plus needs Hydrofoil, Trim Tabs or ... ?
Doug, if you will buy a Solas Amita 4 blade stern lifting prop for your boat all of your problems will go away. You need more stern lift to stop the bow rise and the propoising and that prop will do it. If you will go to Iboats and buy it you will see that it will ost you less than $ 60 with shippin...
