Re: PK78 in Central America
I am certainly making modifications on a whim. As I have very few resources here, I am obliged to use the sail I brought back from the UK, so best start thinking about how to make the sail accommodate the hull, rather than vice-versa. After a bit more thought, and chatting to a few friends, I think ...

P78 - My stitches are WELL embedded; solution?
OK, I have not been reading and now I have realised that I should have done the spot-weld technique to avoid leaving my stitches embedded. What I did is fillet and tape right over them (only on the inside at present). This has left some bumps and non-wetted out areas where I have gone over the stitc...

Re: PK78 Daggerboard Case Build Sequence
Many thanks for that.
I was not quite clear when reading the plans as I thought maybe the tabs where for some sort of mortice and tennon joint to attach to the daggerboard case for extra strength. That the thwart sides would slot into these slots.
All is clear now - many thanks.

PK78 Daggerboard Case Build Sequence
Not really sure how to approach the daggerboard case and main frame for my PK78. It seems that with the rowing version assembly of the central frame before stitching is simple enough, but not so easy on sailing version. Do I make the daggerboard trunk first, then add the two side panels to make eith...

Day Uno
Day one spent finding cheap plywood and lofting - well the instructions say it is not "lofting", so I will call it tracing - but proper use of a bendy batton is lofting in my book. There are a few issues regarding a few omissions from the plans that would have been helpful, such as the dag...
