Re: Shipping Lady C.
Some news about the Lady C. After many tries with Greek customs, we came to the conclusion that we would not be successful in our attempt to get Lady C. in Greece... So we asked the agent to keep her in the transhipment port (Livourne in Italy) and reroute her to Le Havre in France, where I think we...

Re: Shipping Lady C.
Some news from Lady C (SB18). Lady C is now in a container on board a ship somewhere in the Atlantic ocean, with Athens, Greece, as final destination after a transshipment in Italie. When I first consulted the agents in Greece, I was told there would be no problem to import the boat. Now that we nee...

Shipping Lady C.
It is now time to ship Lady C. - my Sport Boat 18 - from Houston to Le Conquet in France! I left Lady C. behind with a friend at the Houston Yacht Club. But he is now repatriating and we need to ship Lady C. to her new home port! Several questions come up, the main one being how do we fit a 2.44 m (...

Rigging
Hello, What are the recommended tensions for the standing rigging? Using the Loos&co rig tension measuring tool, I have: - forestay: 15% of breaking load or about 500 lbs tension - upper side stays: 12% of BL or about 400 lbs - lower side stays: 10% of BL or about 300 lbs Does this seem correct?...

Re: SB 18 rigging, shrouds and chainplates
Picture of the outside here: http://sportboat18.blogspot.com/2011/05/rigging.html
I added a stainless steel plate outside to avoid having the external U bolt pulling too hard biais on the wood. Inside is the re-inforcement as per drawing B281/10 (two sketches left side).

Re: SB18 -Lady C - keel bulb
Thanks Jacques... I have sent inquiries to local founders, but no answer so far... I am not planning a DIY operation, it is too heavy for me and I am not planning to buy the tools for this. If anyone knows a foundry that would be interested by my project, let me know. The bulb is in 2 parts and very...

Re: Sb18 - Lifting Lady C
I have the lifting board, but I slightly modified it to be able to install the keel with an insert in the trunk. If needed, you will see a picture of the arrangement here: http://sportboat18.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2011-02-06T19:28:00-08:00&max-results=7&start=7&by-date=false (pi...

Sb18 - Lifting Lady C
I would like to store my SB18 Lady C on her trailer and use the marina crane to take her in/out of the water. The marina crane has one hook and they did not want me to use web sling around the hull, but they want one (or more) lifting point(s) in the boat. Could you tell me where I should instal suc...

Re: SB18 Lady C rating
You are rugby Evan, I need as wel to work on the sails. We had difficulties to get the jib perfectly flat, so I need to see what we can do with the halyards in the mast. Also add a proper Cunningham.
