Re: Safety and durability

5'11 and was 220 when building/completing my FL12. Still 5'11 but down to 180/185. It handles my weight + teenager and tweener with no problems at all. Build it to specs and it will be fine. But a few modifcations have been done. Read some of the Fl12 threads and you'll see a fair amount of customiz...

Still going, still plying the calm waters of Puget Sound.... this time under the power of 13-yr-old boys, in hopes of some returning salmon... https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/s720x720/523136_3082643164436_1608753600_n.jpg However only a dogfish was caught. Along with the normal, but smal...

FL12 - June 2010 - NWTrout

FL12 started and completed in Winter/Spring 2010. A great little boat that has seen service in western WA Lakes (Lake Washington, Beaver & Cottage) as well as crabbing in Puget Sound and chasing pink salmon on the Duwamish River. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs016.snc4/34166_12148...

Re: CAUTION TENNESSEE BUILDERS!!

I am not going to debate if abusive government is named socialism or fascism or statism, that debate belongs in our "Bilge" section but we can all agree that this is an example of government out of control. I agree completely that this is an example of abusive or ineffective or overly com...

Re: CAUTION TENNESSEE BUILDERS!!

The story is true, Governments are under pressure to squeeze as much $ as possible out of every one. Unelected burokrats rule without any common sense . Welcome to socialism. I would say more but my opinion about this belongs to the bilge section. Unelected employees without common sense? Agree. So...

Re: PrometheusNL FL12

I've added 6mm (1/4) of marine ply to both sides of the transom. You can barely see the ply wood addition here. Intention is to fair and paint same as hull and then overdrill, fill and drill holes to allow bolting of two squares of cutting board material inside and out. The cutting board material ca...

Re: PrometheusNL FL12

Pro, Nice work. For the transom on my FL12 I sort of doubled the whole transome with 6mm (1/4) and 9mm (3/8). Weight wise its fine except too thin for the motor mount jaw opening on the MinnKota electric motor I use. I've since added an additional 6mm (1/4) piece inside and out. This winter I'm also...

FS17 vs OD18

As fall is knocking on the door a bit harder these days, I'm contemplating projects for this winter (and likely next winter as well). Top of my list is the next boat build (FL12 complete and very happy with results). So, I'm looking at FS17 plans and OD18 plans and trying to figure out which to buy....

Re: FL12 - NW Trout - ***SPLASHED***

I recognize the cabins at Camas? Nice to see the update. It is pretty cool to see you are able/comfortable taking the Fl 12 off of the Camas beach, and with two crab pots to boot! I guess if you go on a glass water day and keep a reasonable distance, you'd be OK. I spend a lot of time in the Sound ...

Still enjoying the boat https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/285139_1675531827532_1814557309_1138845_1467655_n.jpg Crabbing for Dungies on Saratoga Passage. About a 40 degree difference between this year and last.... 2010 was high 90s - low 100.... This year mid 50s - low 60s. Crabbi...
