Re: Fs17, June 2016, colonialc19, Daniel

Got out today and put another couple hours on the motor. I will say i am very happy with the way the boat handles, we rode her in some chop and boat wakes and she handled like she should no slamming, a nice sea motion. Great design Mr. M.. I do need to go up a pitch on the prop, i was at 27 knots a...

Re: Budget for FS17

I'm an FS17 builder... It was my first build but not my first time with epoxy. I will tell you that I used more of everything than I had budgeted for except for plywood and glass cloth. Can't really help you on the prices, but the study plans are spot on as far as the wood and glass quantity. The am...

Larry,

This boat is looking great. Haven't been here in a while.. that rod holder guide is a sharp piece of gear. Keep up the good work!

Re: A Cracker Built GF18

Oh, and the boat looks great :D It's nice to have something to work on to get your mind off of things for a while. My own build gave me an outlet during a tough time in my life.

Thanks you all, Will if everything is alright I can pic up my numbers tomorrow, after that she goes to the welder for the T Top and after that I can do the second inspection, VHF and Nav. lights are in the hard top without those no inspection. Well I cranked her over today and she breathes, ...

Re: A Cracker Built GF18

A long time away from the board, and this is the first post I check in on. I'm very sorry to hear the news. I have an aunt who is in treatment for breast cancer right now, and what's keeping her and my uncle positive is their family and friends, and their faith. I don't know you except for your advi...

Re: Question for folks in Western Wa.

I am leaning towards the FS17 and may increase the freeboard. That would mainly be for the safety of my son. He is only a year old right now. Spray rails is also a must. Matt Sounds like a plan. Another thing to think about, rather than increasing the sheer, would be stainless railings. I definitel...

Re: Question for folks in Western Wa.

Hey Matt, Glad to hear you're finally getting ready to build. Interestingly, I'm thinking of moving to WA as well... my brother is in Seattle and I don't have any ties to SD. I occasionally keep an eye on the weather in the sound up there, my brother calls it "protected" but I think I know...

Re: Anyone Fishing?

Caught this lingcod last weekend and it puked up a beautiful whole squid for me. Used the squid (figured fresh dead, right?) on a jig to slow troll for white sea bass. None that day, but that's fishing. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Y15EgzkF4aU/UaPcctTBuWI/AAAAAAAAFas/SE3gsu_KC0U/w893-h670-no/I...
