Re: Jeffs FS14 LS
Make the "hinge" ride in a slot, and use a stretcher from the front edge of the seat to a point on the upright. So when folded, the hinge point moves downward and the front of the seat moves in. That way, your stretchers can be the same length. Edited to add: https://www.greatlakesskipper....

Re: Scaling Question
A little bit of extra work: learn new software, enter the lines from another design, scale, trim, develop panels. If you like it, do it. it can be enjoyable. My concern is that I would mess up and the panels wouldn't be developable and I'd end up having to do something like cold-molding, which I'm ...

Re: Scaling Question
I’d be completely scaling in the vertical axis rather than cutting the sheer down. This would be to maintain the flare.

Re: Scaling Question
Browndog, if I did scale the CS23, I’d scale it completely in the vertical orientation and lower the 15° deadrise. I own the FS19 plans as well. I like the FS19 program, but I think it would be easier to scale the CS23 down than to try to modify the FS19 to have flare and tumblehome. I’d probably ta...

Re: Scaling Question
Would scaling a CS23 in the height dimension only work? Say 70-80% of full sized to produce a "carolina bay" style boat? (See Tidewater Carolina Bay 2300)

Re: OB15 "Shad Dart" First Boat Build-NC
looking at my OB15 plans, i think what you're seeing is the line that is drawn on the nesting that shows where the side panel meets the bottom. this line is unnecessary. lay out your bottom panels per the dimensions on 107/6. This line you're referring to is shown on that sheet as well. this is not ...

Re: Corsair 13 in Metairie LA
plenty of builders add hardware after paint, you just have to drill, fill, and re-drill any holes to make sure there isn't exposed wood.

Re: Flared Bow on C19
Yes, that boat in the picture is very pretty but it will probably require cold molding. I have such a design on my list but I work very slowly lately and miss all my deadlines. It is a cold molded design. As that is how most of those boats are constructed these days. Of course, they used to be 100%...
