The reason for a taller transom was to avoid drilling the jackplate like Hunch had to. I also was looking at Steve's boats and noticed the taller transom and liked the idea.

The way the transom is now - 20" to bottom and it already had a clamping board.

Thanks for the help.

XF-20 Transom

I started building my XF before the talk of a taller transom came about and now I am thinking that I would like one.

How would I go about adding height to my transom and what are the strength concerns?

Thanks for the help,

Earlier this year in Texas (Lower Laguna Madre), people were catching Reds in the 50"+ range on the flats. I had a few chances at some but never hooked up. Just seeing the wake of a school of fish like that gets the blood flowing.

Yes that was my order but that stuff was not ordered for the repair. I am building an XF20 and needed more supplies. I will try to get some pics early next week. I have not cut the deck of yet so I have not actually seen the top of the crack. It might be a lot more work than I am willing to do. Sorr...

Robalo Repair

I have a '84 Rabalo with a crack in the hull and I am thinking of fixing it myself, but this will be my first time doing major repairs to a fiberglass hull and I am a little nervous. First, can I just use Marinepoxy and biax to fix or do I have to use something else? Second, I have seen a crack fixe...

How about "Honestly?" I have to admit that I have started conversations this way, but it really bugs me. Why do you have to start with "honestly," are you lying the rest of the time?

I don't want to open a whole "can of worms" here, but I think I just did.

Ok
I want to see this in person. Email me and we can figure it out from there. Love the color. I think you stole that from me.
