Re: Why build your own boat?

And I have yet to paint my seats fully. I did start though! Good to hear from you Wob. :D Likewise! I've been planning on painting my seats for years now ;) That, and my First Mate keeps threatening to make cushions! Nice clip but not long enough about the boat. I did not need the subtitles. ...

Re: Why build your own boat?

I've just been approached by a TV show to have the boat in one of their episodes! The show was on TV tonight, and they post on YouTube immediately after: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-jwhiomnOc Skip to 22:55 to see the boat, or watch the whole episode to see the village where I live ;) Regards,...

Re: Can I stand in my unfinished boat?

How is the hull supported? When I was at that stage, I had the hull supported by planks along the keel and underneath the stringers, for over a year! imo you're not going to be able to use that platform if the plans call for laminating glass on the inside - you need to be able to walk around inside ...

You want to come visit when you get back from BC? We can pull out a mattress for you!

Why build your own boat?

Out on the boat yesterday, and the skipper of a large grey rib (rigid inflatable) hails me over - I go alongside and he says "every man and his dog can have a rubber duck, but very few can have something like that!" pointing to my boat. That's why! I get comments almost every time I go out...

Re: OC17 cockpit layout.

It looks like what you are doing is a standard C17, but with the helm inside the cabin instead of behind it. Not sure if the berth layout on the OC17 is the same as the C17, but if it is, it looks like you could keep the port berth as is - there is space between the berths as designed to give access...
