Re: Which rollers to use for resin

The adhesive rollers have lasted me almost indefinitely. I believe I used only one or two to build my last boat, the Otter Lissa.

Re: Which rollers to use for resin- adhesive rollers

Use adhesive rollers. These roller can be cleaned and reused many time. Just roll out the resin on newspaper at the end of use, clean in acetone, roll out acetone on newspaper again. These roller are designed for this type of use.

Sorry to delay an answer. I've been busy with other projects. First time poster here. I also am planning to build the Lissa/Otter and was thrilled to find such clear pictures of your pretty boat. I hope I can ask you a few questions. I have purchased the plans for the Lissa and have redrawn them in ...

Re: SH14 sharpie sail boat first time build

Back in 1997 when I built my VG20, I did pre-coat panels before assemble. The resins then blushed and had to be washed and sanded after coating. I was concerned that washing the taping would get water on bare plywood and affect bonds. The new resins don't have the same level of blush problems so tha...

Re: AD 14, Travellers and alternatives.

I was going to make a few suggestions for a traveler based on what I used on the VG20. I like the "windward sheeting" which uses cleats attached to each side of the traveler car for the control lines. I was going to suggest the traveler that I used on the VG and looking through the West Ma...

Re: OT16 Otter completed-seat modifications

I just completed modifying the seat layout in my OT16/Lissa. http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/13941/normal_Side_seat_finished_1w.jpg I sailed, motored and rowed my boat named Lissa. I decided to change the seat layout for several reasons. ROWING: The original removable aft seat with the se...

Re: AD 14 Sale of Just Right

The person who bought Just Right had seen the boat at the Florida 120. I also admired his boat which was a 28 foot, hard chine aluminum boat originally built in France. He rigged the boat to trailer but wanted a smaller, easier to rig boat for some trailer sailing. I think he will use the boat and t...
