Would your kicker in this case do double duty as the motor for a tender? In which case I assume the steering linkage would be removable/ only installed at need?

At the risk of raising a zombie thread, is the consensus that your own MarinEpoxy is gel-coat compatible? I'd imagine the canvas on a skin-on-frame kayak is meant to be flexible. Whereas epoxy-fiberglass is meant to me more-or-less stiff. So I don't think you can swap one for the other without totally changing the design and scantlings of the frame.
