Looking very good! Don't forget to take pics on Saturday's splash. IMHO when you have an inwale, hanging the seats from it is the way to go. What do you plan to do with the hull as far as fairing and painting? any particular color?

Tom, you're welcome. Jerry, got it. No long boards. Thanks. I've been trying to coax myself into starting the sanding, but I've gotten delayed doing other things. http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/15388/normal_927_img.jpg http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/15388/normal_927_img%7E0.j...

Looks great! When I first started reading the post I could not see the picture of the end result. I cringed at the thought of the skil saw ripping through your pretty breasthhook. But I gotta say, it came out very nice. BTW thanks on the fairing board advice.

Some people use tack welds like gk explained above. There are some of us that fillet right over the zip tie. That way you don't have to wait for tack welds to cure. In my case, after making sure that the panels were correctly lined up and had the right gap, I noted that some of the zip ties had no t...

Fairing and painting

Yesterday I got some Quikfair to start the fairing process. I am now in the process of getting any tools and accesories required to do this. I have a question for Chenoa, Hiawatha and CC/NC builders: Did you use a fairing board? I am thinking that because the Chenoa hull does not have big flat area ...

Well you can see that photos of my carbine show a much closer to wood look on the stocks than that shown on the website. Unfortunately there's not much I can do if I want to keep a 454 lever action. The gun shop dealer was telling me that in the beginning days of synthetic stocks some manufacturers ...

When I get back home, I'll take a picture of my rifle and post it. I was displeased when I discovered it was not synthetic, but I considered my choices and as far as I know, there are no other manufacturers making production lever action rifles in 454 casull. If marlin had something like this availa...

I think this type of round would be a blast in a short levergun for brush hunting. The 1892 replicas look cool, I love the classic style. did you get the Rossi or a custom job? Fred in Wisc There's a lot of thick rainforests in the coast mountains around here. Brush hunting is definitely one of it'...

Wow, this is a lot of good info. Thanks guys. I'm leaning on trying birchwood casey's thru oil. What are you planning to shoot with that Casull? Definitely a fun round to shoot, but not too many at a time. I just got the new Smith .460 revolver (shoots the 454s and Colts too) and I can't wait to fin...
