Re: One Hell of the last two months.
Dougster, I am really sorry to read about your wife. You are probably the only couple in the boat forum that I have actually met. She impressed me as a delightful little woman. I hope for the very best for you in the time ahead.

Re: Question for Joe H
Thanks Joe, that's what I needed to know. We still count on the P19 to moor in front of our cottage and take us on luncheon runs to neighboring islands whenever we have company. I have even picked up people on the mainland a few times when they missed the last ferry. I'll check into the windless to ...

Question for Joe H
That Chris Craft looks like a beauty, although I hate to even think of bright work on a boat of mine. I have another question though. How did that windless work out on the P19? It looks a bit undersized. Have you used it in harsh conditions at any point? I am getting a bit old to be running forward ...

Re: Game Warden inspection in Texas...
I second Dougsters comments. The only reason for the game warden to visit is to check on whether the boat has been stolen. The game warden does not check equipment or do a safety check. That will be done if you are stopped on the water. As for the sales tax. They only charge for things you did not b...

Re: HMD19 Trailer Help
One of the reasons I went with a single axle aluminum trailer for my P19 was that I could keep the gross weight under 3000lbs. It was close, but I weighed in on the scales with a dry boat at 2950. The trailer capacity is rated at 3500. Under 3000 lbs I would not need trailer brakes to be a legal tow...

Re: P19 Fuel Tank
Wow! That's several great choices I did not know about 9 years ago. Almost makes me want to cut out my front tank and drop in a replacement. Almost, that is.

Re: P19 Fuel Tank
P.S. Forget the baffles, you don't need them. The total change in balance from fuel going from one end to the other in the tank is small compared to the wave action that is causing it.

Re: P19 Fuel Tank
If you are going with aluminum I think there is a good choice available almost off the shelf which will avoid the mistake I made. I used the Moeller Marine Below Deck Permanent Fuel Tank (25-Gallon, 47" x 18.03" x 7.5") which is sold by Amazon. Notice that the fill tube is straight up...

Re: P19 Fuel Tank
The fuel tanks are one of the toughest trade-offs you make. The aluminum tanks will not stand up forever with any salt water in the bilge. However, you can get them built in just about any configuration. The plastic tanks are tough, but they expand about 3% the first time you fill them and they need...
