Thinking about building a shallow draft skiff... I already have a 10 hp motor... occasionally protected bays to throw out a few crab rings... standing and casting a fly rod... light, shallow, low power. I like pointy boats ... Take a look at the FS18... pointy, stable for crabbing/fly fishing, hull...

I am building a FL12 or 14 and would like to get a small elec. motor... I also have a small 12ft sloop... I'd like to be able to use the same motor on it. As long as you are prepared to carry, and switch a 60 lb battery from one boat to the other, a 12 volt trolling motor should work fine for your ...

Beautiful!

Like Ranger said, it’s a well developed, and constructed, skiff for proging around the marshes.

Based on the side view, I get a LOA of about 13:1 to the depth of the hull at midships. So if my calculations are right, and it is 15’ long, the depth at midships would be about 13â€

Anyone interested in maritime history should definitely visit the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum when in the area... besides skipjacks, buy boats and “skiffsâ€

Sorry, I was wrong, the boat plans site is still bateau.com. I’m running Firefox (on a Mac) and it’s fine, but it could be a PC/Foxfire problem.
