Re: C17 single side panel possible?
I guess me question is “why”? I doubt you will save much time. I doubt you will save plywood. And you are probably borrowing trouble if your single side panel doesn’t fit. Aside from acting as a stiffener, the second side panel adds some aesthetics. To glue a stiffener inside like the P series strik...

Re: Panga Pg25 questions
1) in the frames diagram the transom BL to Keel measurement is not provided. The only values are the Chine lengths and Shear. 2) is it possible to make the transom beefed up by adding another layer or ply to support a 150hp outboard. If no I would defer to Suzuki df140 at 400lbs. it is essentially ...

Re: Ventilation - C17 50 Yam
My 2 cents - for what they are worth. My C19 had no skeg and a FICHT Ram 90 HP and a 3 blade aluminium prop and it used to cavitate sometimes. I changed the prop to a 4 blade stainless prop and the cavitation ceased completely and the hull gripped better in turns and the holeshot was better and it w...

Re: DE23 for VT Jeff
You are talking to a guy who added a couple of feet to a C19 - and for me it was chalk and cheese - not only having the little bit of extra room - 2 feet goes a long way, but also I feel like the boat is better for the added length. It is rare to meet someone who says “I wish I had made my boat 2 fe...

Re: DE23 for VT Jeff
Why not the DE25 - probably very similar build times, not much more weight and materials and probably no harder to trailer/ manoeuvre but you get quite a bit more space? And I will guess will ride a little better.

Re: C17 open in France
Your boat looks awesome. Love the layout particularly at the bow of the lockers. My only comment would be that you will get lots of wear on your gunwales/ paintwork from the ropes if you leave those front side cleats as they are; perhaps mount them on a sacrificial piece of wood, or a small piece of...

Re: Duet power catamaran launched
Wow Dinas - our build looks incredible. You certainly have modified a lot from the original.
I see both you and Dan have had similar issues that required some serious retrofitting.
If you did it all again would you use a different set of plans/ hull type from the start?

Re: Adding shear to an existing hull
The best way to do this would be to overlap another panel with the existing panel. Drop this panel say 4- 6 inches from the sheer line and then extend however much you want to add upwards whilst following the shape of the bow and transom. Have a look at the C19 or OD 18 or the FS17 extended sheer as...
