Re: Interest in PH18

I built a PH18 about 3 years ago with many of the options you are asking about. I fish the shallow flats in Texas and am here to tell you it will run as shallow as you could want. The following are a few of the options I built along with my experience: - I installed a 115 jet outboard which allows m...

Re: Wouter's PH18 Namibia

I also have the 9x12 Lenco Trim Tabs and have not had any problem with them. It is nice to have them as they make a significant difference when getting on plane and when heading straight into a significant chop, to push the bow down and be able to cut through waves rather than pound on top of them o...

Re: New Braunfels - PH18 Jet

Ended up going ahead and getting the new 115 Four stroke. Nice thing about getting the factory jet is that is warranted under the factory warranty, and Yamaha was giving an additional 2 years of warranty when I purchased, so I have a total of 5 years of warranty on the new motor! It is way quieter a...

Re: Anyone Fishing?

Had a pretty incredible trip on my brothers boat earlier this year out of Port Aransas. Were offshore about 80 miles and it was pretty slow, so we decided to run south to find better looking water. As we were running, my dad jumped off the seat in front of the console yelling about a big blue marlin...

Re: New Braunfels - PH18 Jet

I am looking to upgrade the motor on the boat from the 90 two-stroke jet to a factory 115 four-stroke jet. The 90 jet is extremely light and has worked great, but it is just so darn loud, I have decided to make a change. Problem is when I went to the Yamaha dealer, they asked what the HP rating was ...

Re: Ph22 builders

Wavygravy, if you are wanting to fish in shallow water I would suggest using an outboard with a jet drive. I built a PH18 with a jet outboard and love it, but due to it being a jet i have to pull shell out of the jet from time to time snd it is much easier to do when you can raise the motor to get t...

Re: New Braunfels - PH18 Jet

My wife surprised me this Christmas big time by having a good artist friend of ours commision a painting of my skiff and I was blown away!! The lighthouse in the background is one of the areas in Port Aransas I fish the most with my boat! http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/87790/A62FAC4E-0E9...

Jeff, that is great! Sorry for the delay in posting under "Finished Boats" but just now realized that there was a place to post finished boats. The above are some of my favorites, but by far the one below with my little girl my favorite! http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/87790/IMG...
