Re: building xf20

Hey Jacques remember me? I was one of the 1st builders of your XF20 to radically modify the plans and we argued to no end about it. That was a long time ago. I used 5/8" ply for the bottom and fore and aft fishing decks, 1/2" for the sides, and 5/8" for the cockpit sole. All the ply u...

Re: XXXF20 Build

I haven't been on this forum in a few years, but a good friend of mine "Stickystuff" pointed out that a XF20 was being built in Miami. I built one of the 1st XF20 and as I too live in Miami I figured I would chime in. 1st of all the building of my XF20 literally saved my ass by providing t...

Advertizing folks have spent the last few years spreading the pure propaganda that foam or all glass is better and wood is inferior. The're just trying to scare people with $$ to waste into buying a new boat, and misleading them into thinking it is low to no maintenance if there is no wood in the h...

Those ignorant bastards don't deserve your boat. Have faith, some knowledgeable person will come around and appreciate your hard work and an excellent design.

The one problem I am having with the boat is that I did not allow enough drop in the angle of the gutters of the hatches that I built in the stern area . Water is draining into the bilge instead of the cockpit. I would be sure both bilge pumps are (one on each side of the tunnel) working, don't wor...

The supplied cover does seal pretty good, but it might not last long, since it's rubber. The socket has a small hole in the back for drainage, so that will help. I think the only problem will be finding a convenient place where you won't stub your toes on it. Mount as close to the bracket as ...

From what he told me and it is posted onone of the other sites on Bateau it ran out very well. I ordered him a 13 4 blade tripple cup which he has but did not have a chance to run it yet.I...
