DE23 motorwell bottom location- no dimensions
DE23 I see the dimensions to cut out the motorwell bottom on D238/7, I also see where it is on the nesting drawing, D238/2, but I don't see any measurements where it is located in the motorwell. I see that it is installed at an angle, but there are no measurements how far down on the transom or fram...

Re: knottyBuoyz III The TW28 Project
I have a feeling the basic interior work/putting in bulkheads is going to go pretty quick.
Should be a big boost when you get a lot of new structure to look at.

I use routers and pattern bits all the time on many different projects.
Routers are great tools.

Re: VG18 General Questions
The vg18 has the updated wood composite keel that is integrated into the hull. No metal or welding like the original keel setup on the VG20. The VG20 also has an updated wood keel assembly, but it is separate, not integrated like on the VG18. You can say the VG18 has the second generation design. I ...

Plywood thickness
VG20 OK, I feel like I am starting to bug you Jacques,my apologies, but I can't quite figure it out and I need some guidance. Since I have to mail order all my plywood, I want to save money on shipping and only order once, so I need to have a complete take off and nesting done first, which is what I...

Chainplates specifications
VG20 chainplates
I am ordering 316 stainless steel flat bar for the chainplates on the VG20.
The 1 3/4" width as specified on the plans is an oddball size and not readily available that I have seen.
How critical is the width measurement?

Re: Keel center board pivot rod material
Good. That tube is compressed when you tighen the bolt: the washers push on it. This is for the VG20, I don't see any washers or bolts, just a screw that goes into the end of the delrin pivot rod (which is cut with an X on the end so the screw pushes it out) that is inside the stainless steel pivot...

Re: Keel center board pivot rod material
Are we talking about the pivot itself? No, absolutely no Lexan or any polymer. IT must be SS, stainless steel. I am talking about the tube that is in each side of the vg20 keel, but doesn't go through the centerboard box itself (so 2 pieces) that the delrin rod goes into. I'll use stainless steel. ...

Re: Plywood vs Laminated solid wood
Thank you. What constitutes narrow? Can you use strips 3/4" thick? Blank is about 24"x 28" - 1 1/2" thick So 3/4" thick 1 1/2" wide 28" long strips laminated together 24" wide, so about 32 strips. For the shaping I was thinking of doing something like this. ht...
