There is only one varnish I use in outdoor applications and that is Interlux Perfection Plus a two-part varnish that lasts 4 times longer than the standard varnish. Just something to think about Craig.

Again, Jacques allowed scaling of up to 10% without increasing the scantlings. Anything over 10% requires a redesign of the boat. Thicker hull bottom, stringers and frames. While he allowed scaling in length, he preferred scaling in all dimensions.

swglenn is wrong there is no need to increase the size of the scantlings when scaling up by 10%. Sorry I have missed this earlier as I have been having back surgery for the last few weeks. Like Barraman an extra layer of 12oz on the bottom may be indicated if HP is at the max amount indicated. Don't...

You say the gaps are f0r wider, what is far wider 1/4" 1/2"? You also mention the tips are Touching, this may be keeping them from sitting down properly.

Walter as you get near the bow you will need to place the zip ties closer together. At the stern they can be farther apart. Tom

what i was thinking of ,in short version, that your boat has much more hull/bottom underwater than original MG and that makes it more stable. The more submerged surface, the more stable the boat.
