Re: VG23 New Build
While agree, it can also be a hazard in bad weather. If you have a pulpit/dexk holder you have chain and/or line creating a trip hazard OR you have to the same “not ready” and now have to do prep exposed on deck. The only thing I’ve found that really seems to work is in deck hatch with integrated rh...

Re: OD16 in Virginia
Are you using the phoBB or coppermine gallery? The Coppermine Gallery. The coppermine gallery is working as expected. I'm not sure where your trouble is. I will suggest that, if you haven't used coppermine previously, you consider using the phpBB version that is part of the forum software. I create...

Re: Proper axle sizing is important
In this case the it was having 14k capacity left with a "ready to fish boat" (less fuel and ice which is only about 2k for this trip) and 50mi of towing left. The spare hub on the mounted spare was unserviceable (I chastised him for ignoring it during routine maintenance). The guys I'm wor...

Re: Landing craft, quad sized.
I think you’d be good with a build thread here if you wanted. Put it in the CL section or the bilge vs the official builds and your local moderator would be ok.
I’m pretty sure that’s been the policy all along.

I’m printing with 1.0 80% of the rim right now. My poor ender 3 still manages to runs about 50mm/s at 200C on the hot end. The problem is just getting the booger string hot enough, on its way through. From what I can tell, even the Vorons will suffer the big noz slow down that happens at 0.8. I’m st...

Re: VG23 New Build
If you’re concerned about epoxy bonding with white oak (legit), be careful of the acetone advice. Acetone changes the chemical structure of epoxy. Make sure the acetone is evaporated 100% before you apply epoxy. There’s a guy on YouTube that shows the problem of acetone weakened epoxy. If you watch ...

Re: VG23 New Build
We can argue (it would be pointless) about the “structural” concept but your stiffness statement is correct. The rail adds rigidity. Rigidity is very important. We should not discount that concern. I think the point was the other part… “there are going to be much bigger issues to address”. If you bl...

Re: VG23 New Build
I don't see them as structural parts This is gospel for you here. Also the preceding “if you hit something hard enough” with proper glue and glass … The metal is overkill too. It won’t stop the damage but will move it to places you don’t want it. If I recall, there’s already a crash box on the bow ...

Proper axle sizing is important
34’ Hydrasport on a recently rebuilt trailer. Owner opted to ignore the “you don’t need beefy axles with a triple axle trailer” lie and put 3 7k axles under there (not sure what brand) when the boat is 9K dry. Blew the hub 50mi from here but grabbed the wrong “trailer parts box”. Managed to make the...
