Deedee, one thing you shouldn't forget is that once there is a 2' or more chop out there, you will HAVE to slow down to speeds around 10mph, otherwise you'll end up hurting folks sitting on your casting deck when you are underway. On my OD16, even in absolutely calm conditions, I don't think I'd wan...

She's treating me just fine! If everything goes alright, she's getting a new used '96 Johnson 48HP....and I really have to try to do some of the cosmetic fix-it work before I take her out this year! Thanks for asking! :)

That's going to be one 'show boat' once you get done with her. Congrats! Happy to see that now there is a 'bateau' community in Curacao! Btw..I have a good friend living over there...moved from Florida to Curacao and always wanted to build a boat. He's a top chef with his wife that does the pastries...

Cracker Larry... - Your boat is absolutely, undoubtedly beautiful! What a job! I haven't checked the boards in some time, but I have been following your incredible work. She is just marvelous! Now, just a tip: I see that you probably will run into the same problem I did w/my trailer. The cross membe...

Bill..I'm just curious as to where you launched. It doesn't happen to be at Shell Point, is it?

I'm asking, because I launch my OD16 - The Inshallah - there quite often and I'd love to have a look at your boat. It is absolutely gorgeous!

Congratulations.

Jaap..I'm an immigrant from Germany to the U.S.A. I built the OD16 and was wondering what kind of permitting is necessary in the Netherlands for a boat like yours. That would be permits to build it, to register it, and what kind of licensing are you looking at for actually using it? Good luck and I'...

Believe me...I've been on my buddy's 16' Cape Horn..before he sold it (could kill him for that!). It did great, and I couldn't see any downside to it having no quarterpanel boxes. The interesting thing is, that it is a single hull design, i.e. not a Bayliner 1/4" hull w/a second hull providing ...

Butt blocks probably will work fine!

...I was just suggesting based on how I'm going to have to fix mine (to late for butt blocks :P )...which are by FAR not as nice as your gunwhales! - You'll be able to lift your boat with a crane from those!
