FS14
https://youtu.be/U_bOuvfN6-w Not sure this classifies as "progress," but technically the boat is still in progress (waiting for a 20HP Yamaha, supposed to arrive in June!) Yesterday put on the final coats of varnish, installed hardware, rigged controls on this FS14. This is my second Bate...

FS14 Motor Shaft Length
Looking to answer whether I should order the short (15") or long (20") Yamaha F20 for my FS14. Looks like S shaft is 17.4" from transom mount to cavitation plate Looks like L shaft is 22.2 in same dimensions From plans, I see 19 ⅝" on this dimension transom to keel. So I am think...

Under seats/inside compartments
I'm building an FS12, and although still working on the outside fiberglass and fairing, am starting to think about primer and paint. What's the best way to finish the insides of compartments (i.e. under seats, in the open bow compartment)? Will use Silvertip Primer everywhere, but should those compa...

Received the CNC plywood yesterday, and got to work cutting out the parts and getting ready to build the mold!

Re: 15 HP for FS-12
Makes sense, thanks. Sounds like a 9.9 is the way to go. To my above question, is the 15" shaft length correct? The website lists 20" shaft length as correct, but that seems too big based on Yamaha's dimensions.

CNC Parts for FS12
Are the CNC parts cut exactly as shown in the FS12 plans? Wondering if it is possible to order the CNC parts without the stern seat hatch cut out, and without the cutout in the bow frame. Looks like the stringer blocks could come from other parts of the 4'x8' sheet. Do you take modifications such as...

Re: 15 HP for FS-12
I've purchased the plans for the FS12 and am also deciding on an outboard to plan for. The Yamaha 15hp "S" with a shaft length of 15" specifies on the drawing that there is 17.1" from the top of the clamp down to the cavitation plate. This seems to match the dimension in the plan...
