Re: FS14LS Build in Waco, TX

My opinion…For knocking all the biaxial stitching down use power tools. Once you start exposing the strands of glass then move on to other areas. You want that as smooth as it can be before you start fairing. On the transom all that appears to be not wetted out is the stitching which isn’t a problem...

Does that assembly have kill switch incoprorated?
No it’s just a key switch. My kill switch is on the throttle assembly.

Re: Yamaha Ignition Switch

It’s a PDF although I don’t recall where I acquired it. I imagine it’s supposed to be kept within dealer channels but I found it somewhere on the world wide web. It’s 13MB so if you PM me your email address I can share it. There is a third option and it’s what I did for my boat. 688-8258A-20-00 is a...

Re: Yamaha Ignition Switch

There is a cable harness that converts the 8 pin switch connection to a 10 pin engine connection. 688-82586-50 (5 meters) What you should consider to keep integrated PTT wiring is this harness depending on length. 688-8258A-50 5 m (16.4 ft) 688-8258A-60 6 m (19.7 ft) 688-8258A-70 7 m (23 ft) 6K1-825...

Re: FS14LS Build in Waco, TX

Does it sit down with minimal force or do you really have to push on it for it to flatten out? Personally I wouldn’t worry with a small amount, but something does seem off. One thing you could do is check the panel to the plans. If the curvature is off from a puzzle joint misalignment or something t...

Re: FS14LS Build in Waco, TX

I taped mine inside and out (not puzzle joint) and it didn’t seem to affect flexibility any noticeable amount. Either way if you’ve gotten the side panels on the jig then you’re probably fine. Regarding the bow, I don’t recall mine pulling up that bad, but I did drill some holes into the bow mold an...

Re: FS14LS Build in Waco, TX

Gaps are no problem and almost always desirable. seal edges with raw epoxy and fill any gaps with thickened epoxy before taping. I don't think tape is required over puzzle joints, but I'd fill the gaps with epoxy & woodflour while gluing together. It may be awkward to do, but I'd spread the pea...

Re: Cleat Question

Definitely not worth busting it out and starting over in my mind. Make sure you get some good coats of neat resin all over and build on!
