Re: LM18 Tunnel Build - NC
Been a long while since I’ve posted!
Definitely made some progress and most importantly learned a lot!
Hoping to get it to a point this week to flip back over for paint.

Re: LM18 Tunnel Build - NC
Hey all! It’s been a long time, my daughters travel softball and work has kept me pretty wrapped up… knocking the dust off the boat this weekend to continue progress! My thought with the 70 and the tunnel was to go for a pretty aggressively cupped 4 blade for plane-ing out fast and running shallow l...

Re: Lm 18 rub rail question
In my opinion this looks better than angled down. Not to mention if you ran your deck out to the edge and router-ed it all together you would gain some inches in beam… This is coming from a novice boat builder, but a professional fisherman. Lol.

Re: Lm 18 rub rail question
Slick idea! Did you just put a huge fillet on the underside to fill the angle gap?

Re: LM18 Tunnel Build - NC
I appreciate the input Tom! We’ll see how it goes, either way I will end up with a Yamaha… sometimes there will be three of us in the boat and that 70 might come in handy to plane quickly.

Re: LM18 Tunnel Build - NC
Here’s some more progress pics…. Scored a pretty sweet deal on Yamaha 70 2stroke (overpowered I know!) came with all controls and bobs jackplate. Oh yeah, and me trying to be Hercules ended up with a nice prop gash!!!

Re: Glass layup with a tunnel question?
It’s 1200. Man I’d love to find some without the damn cotton stitching. That stuff makes sanding such a pain! It seems so thick after I’ve taped it. I’m sure I’ll have tons of fairing to do.

Re: Glass layup with a tunnel question?
I really appreciate it man! You’ve saved my ass a few times!! I was about to go through the struggle! Lol
I’m going to look at it for the next several hours probably over several rum and cokes. And take chomp out of it tomorrow

Re: Glass layup with a tunnel question?
I see what you’re saying now. It would be way easier cut and overlap on the sides. Still a little uncertain on the transom.. I was goi g to cut there and do a small overlap. Would you do the transom as one solid piece, overlapping the bottom and sides?
