Re: Anyone Fishing?

Just a thought from up north, The blues I caught this year were off the beach, filleted them, cut a pocket in the fillet, stuffed them with a crab meat-bread crumb-pepper flake-minced onion-melted butter stuffing, put in a aluminum foil tent, put on grill, when almost done finished on grill I also c...

tom w

You really are in God's country.

I was thinking again can I add 3-6" at the bow and curve the gunnel back to near amidships to gain a little more splash protection?

Will order plans shortly and keep you up dated.

Thanks and Happy Holidays to you and your family.

Re: stability of indian river skiff

tom w I looked at the scaled drawings, if I leave out the middle seat, use 3" frames, run stringers and use 1/4" ply (like a floor board) to flatten this area for no trip hazzards. Can i still move the forward seat forward as you suggested. Can I just move the forward seat forward and join...

Re: stability of indian river skiff

Tom, Thanks I will go back and rethink the fl14 as you said, on my org. build I did not move the seat as forward as you suggessted=my bag I screwed up, i like the idea of no seats and will look at this too, no seats will also allow me to carry a few eel and crab pots. The orig fl14 I built ie being ...

Thanks

Re: stability of indian river skiff

George, I agree it is illegal to ride on the gunales and am sure that the designer of these boats would not do anything wrong-but I looked at the pix again and it might be just the angle of the camera to show where the person is located-it maybe he is sitting on a bench seat at the rear. I did not m...

Re: stability of indian river skiff

SDS No I did not as it looks as if the gunales would be used for seats. But I will go back and take another look. I looked at the garvey13 this morning as it has the "cockpit" seating, still working on inside measurments. Maybe I have a wish list that may not be able to be met, but I know ...

Re: stability of indian river skiff

Thanks to all you replied. My sister has an amutated leg. I built the fl14 with the suggested mods. but the only way we could get her aboard was to have her sit on the middle seat, but still it was very tight. By the way we used an old p/u truck tail gate hand cranked crane to get her in and out of ...
