I am getting ready to order my plywood for my FS12 build and had a few questions. I tried calling this morning but the number does not connect.
1. Can I use the BS6566 Meranti or do I need to use the Meranti BS1088.
2. If I am going to add a sole to the boat should I use 6mm or 9mm?
Thanks.

You will be bending the ply, so BS1088 Okoume is the best.
The floor/sole, are you going to foam under it? If yes you could use 6mm. You are adding weight...
Have you looked into the CnC kit? worth it in time and money.
Also, look at this, little bit more money.... but bigger.

The move is delayed because of a building permit but it will happen in the coming months.

Re: Plywood for an FS12 build
Thanks for reaching out. I spoke to Reid this afternoon and figured out what plywood I should use. Now I just need to double check my quantities and I'll get my order placed Monday.

Re: Plywood for an FS12 build
Thanks Capt UB for the feedback. I actually bought a FS18 from one of the members a few months ago and we have loved fishing in it. I want to build something smaller that will work with a 5hp Mercury I still have and that my son can put into the creek without a trailer. So I arrived at the FS12. It's my first build so being a manageable size is good too.Capt UB wrote: ↑Fri Jun 22, 2018 12:45 pmThey (I think are moving to a new place), but try again.ctbeutel wrote: ↑Fri Jun 22, 2018 11:18 am I am getting ready to order my plywood for my FS12 build and had a few questions. Re: Plywood for an FS12 build
I am the designer and I own a FS12. It's a great little boat and moves nicely with a 2.5 HP Suzuki. It would plane with a 5 HP.
