Currently building Jacques Mertens ST21 "Skinnydip". Boating adventures: Splash testing and using 'Skinnydip, as a basis of further building refinement; Adams 44’ sailing sloop "Great Sandy" (cruising and maintaining); Iain Oughtred Feather Pram "Mini Dip" (building); Jacques Mertens R13 "Wood Duck" (built and due for maintenance).

The small Honda engine that runs a wash pump we can use to clean ponds at work lost its pull chord and the guys just started using a cordless drill to start it. Your application is much more genuis.

Thanks cape man. D Many others have been using cordless drills as electric winch handles for years, I've copied them.
Late last year I stripped Great Sandy back to bare poles and sent all sails to my local sailmaker for routine repairs. I also commissioned a bespoke new sail bag for the mainsail on the boom, as the one the sailmaker had built in 2009 was failing.
On Friday the sailmaker re-installed the repaired sails and new boom bag. I'm very happy with the results.
First pic shows Great Sandy early Friday with bare poles. The second shows her new boom bag containing the repaired main, and her two repaired headsails furled in position.

Damn sexy boat. Damn sexy. Even with bare poles she’s a glorious siren luring some of us out to sea in the quiet moments between thoughts.
Thank you for the pictures.

Very beautiful lady! Should you be posting pictures of her when she is not fully dressed?

Thanks Jaysen, Tom and OQ.
She still turns heads. I suspect that's because she looks like what she was born to be, a no compromise fast sailing cruiser, in a era where just about every other boat in tan anchorage is a floating apartment that sails like a saucer.
Spent today provisioning. Suspect there are better ways to spend a day.
