Actually, my post is a bit wrong and a bit right.
Here is that picture.
You can see that the dev panel portion ends early and the rounded bow is actually added as a component prior to tabbing it all.
This can be done in plywood, but would require extra tabbing inside. I would recommend 4 layers of 1708 inside, staggered edges; biggest piece first over the entire stem with 6,5,4,3" overlapping the hull planking. The stem takes the hardest impacts if you hit waves head on.
My recommendation is friendly and I'll accept no liability for telling you what I'd do. I'd probably even go to 5 layers...

Other people make this type of addition just by adding a strong bow pulpit and no changes to the stem....less fairing that way and you get to use a fancy piece of teak for the pulpit. Generally, an anchor is kept there, but you could make a pulpit for anything.

Good point Jaysen. He will need to keep track of the weight of the additional material weight especially the 6' towards the bow. Then measure the distance between there and the LCG which is about 6" behind the console. Multiply the weight x distance. If it is 10lbs and the center of the weight is 12' from LCG you would need to move 120 pounds behind the LCG 1'. Since you probably weigh more than that, just move the console back the equivalent amount. In other words if you weigh 180 pounds move the console back 120/180=.6667 of a foot. Nice and easy.

What about making the molds and then strip planking the sides to fit?

I think you should cut the stem the way you want the bow to look , then build as designed as far as the start of bow location . You can trim the stem to suit and use foam to to fill in , same with the hull , trim to suit . That way if you don't like what you've added on you can just cut it off and have the boat as designed .
