Trolling Motor FS18 Question
Trolling Motor FS18 Question
Has anyone installed a trolling motor on an FS18? What kind? Was it a tiller? Was it remote? I haven’t seen any posts regarding this subject, any thoughts or suggestions about this would greatly be appreciated.
Re: Trolling Motor FS18 Question
I have not, but did put one on my SK14. Looks like it would be dead easy on the FS18 with its flat bow. Definately install it on the nose and you'd never regret getting one with spot lock. It's magic. Here some pics from my old build thread:

Thanks Doug
Re: Trolling Motor FS18 Question
As small as a FS18 and as low as the weight is a 12V 55lbs trolling motor will work fine for you. Make sure you get Spot Lock that will keep you in one position. Minnkota seems to be the favored brand but there is another.

Re: Trolling Motor FS18 Question
I have a 13'boat with a 55lb Minn Kota and a 22' boat with a 112lb Minn Kota. Personally I wouldn't put anything less than an 80lb trolling motor on an 18' boat. Both are bow mounts with remote steering. I have only used Minn Kotas but my experience has generally been good. I agree that Spot Lock is a game changer.

Thanks Tom, that’s what I was thinking. Terrova 54” 55lb 12v, battery up front. I just haven’t seen any posts or pictures of an FS18 with a trolling motor. It’s a little too tippy to use a tiller I think.

I put the motor guide xi5 55lb 12v on my lm18 and love it
Re: Trolling Motor FS18 Question
I just installed a riptide power drive with ipilot 12v 55lb on my lm18. It doesn’t take up a lot of room and is had plenty of power
