FS 17 Plans
FS 17 Plans
Hello All, I bought the plans for the FS17. The plans are labeled low sheer version. Is this the same plans that most of the builders used or is the the plans that shine used to build his version? Thanks in advance Joel

Re: FS 17 Plans
I built the standard version. If you let me know the height of a couple of the bulkheads I could compare with my plans and let you know.

Re: FS 17 Plans
I got a chance to look at my plans this evening.
There are 4 sheets of plans I got (plus a couple other non plan documents)
FS17_US_complete
FS17_M_complete
Then in a folder titled "Large Sheets"
FS17_US_LS (ls stands for large sheet)
FS17_M_LS
So you will only use the US set or the M set (feet and inches vs metric, your choice)
I remember thinking the LS stood for low sheer, but it made more sense once I realized it stood for large sheets.
The second issue is that in the complete form which is more the instructions (the large sheets is more the dimensions) it shows the changes and dimensions for low sheer which you can ignore if building standard or high sheer.
It looks like the low sheer comes to 13inches above the waterline for bulkheads A, B, C, and D
On the standard version it's
24 1/2 on bulkhead A
20 5/8 on bulkhead B
18 1/4 on bulkhead C
16 3/4 on bulkhead D
Hopefully that helps clarify. If you don't have both the complete pages and the large sheets then get a hold of Jeff or Reid here and they can help you out.
Good luck! We have loved ours!

Thanks for the clarification on the labels being large sheets. Joel
