CH16 Canoe for sale

Post by thb »

Hello all,

I am selling my Completed CH 16 which I built about 12 years ago. It is out of 1/4 BS 1088 Okume which I purchased from BBC. Foam floatation in each end covered with BS 1088 Meranti. Seats and cooler platform also Meranti with honduran mahogany cleats. I am asking $1000 and canoe can be picked up in Steinhatchee. I have not put it in the water yet as my sense of balance is no good. In my youth I could canoe all day long.

Has light blue kiwi grip on floor and all paint is Interlux brightside. Comes with the igloo cooler and two cup holders. Grab handles at each end are solid Brass.

Regards
Tom in Steinhatchee

It is a beauty.

Could you use it with outriggers? Or is even getting in and out too hard?

I could probably clamp outriggers onto the cooler upper supports but I am not sure that will be enough. Thanks for the input.

Hello all,

If you tried to build one the material would cost you more than what I am asking. I think this is a fair price.

It is a heluva deal. I am too far away or I’d buy it for Texas.

It's harder to sell a boat on a forum for boat builders I think, because you're dealing with people who want to build their own, even if the costs don't make sense. Are you also advertising anywhere else?

That's a nice looking canoe, but we already have a canoe and don't need two.

Hello all,

Yeah I have printed ads around town and I also have an ad in Craigslist. I think it will sell soon. Lots of folks coming here for the scalloping.
