Thanks for the pre-research Tom. I am going to be using the boat this coming weekend, so I will check the tach setting again, as well as pay closer attention while running the boat and report back.

We took the boat out again this weekend!
Crabbed the Indian River in the morning on Friday and Saturday.

Then we took a big crew out to anchor up at a beach in Rehoboth Bay. We had 4 adults and 2 kids. Boat did great. Had to be conscious of weight distribution, but the engine didn't show any signs of the extra weight.

I didn't mess with the tach until after we used it so i don't have any updated numbers, but I did have it on the wrong setting, and after i fixed it I briefly ran it on the hose in the driveway and it appears to be working now. Before, it wouldn't rev past 2600, and after I fixed it it would easily go over 3000 on the hose. I'll get the updated numbers for the full range next time so i can start to dial in the prop. But I'm still very happy with the initial numbers. I was able to get it to hit 38 mph, in flat calm water with just myself, my youngest daughter and the crabbing gear.

Nice Mike!!! Jeff

Nice Mike. when you get their next time with you alone or a light load you should be able to reach 6300 rpms without a problem. If your over, you need to increase pitch or increase diameter this will reduce your rpm's. Watch your tach the operating of the 90 Honda is 5300-6300rpm's you want to be at the high end with a light load. Then as you load it you will drop rpms down. Tom

Thanks Tom! I will report back next time I use it with (hopefully) correct rpm figures.

Went crabbing on the boat this morning! Crabs were hard to come by but happy to report the tach seems to be working just fine. Hit a top speed again of about 38 with minimal crabbing gear and only one other tiny human on board. Max rpm was 6200.
Looking forward to a great holiday weekend and lots great time on the boat!
Cheers,
Michael

Sounds like she's dialed in nicely!
