∞+300hr isn't too far off. You are never done sanding. Scratch it-sand. Change the color-sand. Refinish in 5 years-sand. Decks chewed up- maybe sand probably roll a new coat on. Bright work- sand and sand and sand.

Buy stock in your favorite sandpaper company.

A better tool has never been devised because everybody that has to sand is too busy sanding to design something. If they do design something, they are too tired at the end of the day to do anything about it.

Fire. Fire is my solution to sanding.

Build boat. fair boat. Paint boat. apply fire to boat.

See, no sanding.
My already completed 'Lil Bit'. A Martens Goosen V12 set up to sail me to the fishing holes.
Currently working on making a Helms 24 our coastal cruiser.

I'm not looking to make a "stronger" joint, but a smoother one. And to be honest, I'm building this thing to kill time, so wasting an extra 5 minutes per joint isn't the end of the world.
You’d have to test it all.

The main thing in joins is you want them to resist falling apart and resist cosmetic problems.

My gut hunch is the testing would show the failures are not on either a glassed butt join or a half lap, but next to them.
