Fast(slow) glue cure opinions

Post by jbo_c »

I have some arches to glue to bulkheads this weekend. I have one jig and four arches to glue.

I have slow Marinepoxy. Temps will be 90F and days will be sunny.

The arches will be under stress and held in place with clamps. Usually I would wait 24 hours to remove clamps, but I wonder at those temps if I’d be OK removing the clamps after 8 hours of direct sun(probably over 105F surface temp).

That would allow me to do one arch day and one overnight to effectively double my “production”. Obviously don’t want to remove clamps and take a chance of it springing loose, but I think surely at those temps it will be fully cured in 8 hours(or at least fully enough to hold).

Thoughts?
