Helm riser.
I need to build a helm riser.
I want to make it so I can fit a two seater helm bench above it and a freezer cooler under it.
The riser is 22.5" to the top.
I have 3/4" coosa panels for the tops.
I am a little worried about the weight getting to be too much, so the bench will be removable.
Has anyone laminated the black 3/4" coosa to span 24x48?
Can coosa be used for cleats without glass?

Re: Coosa project
Anyone ever vac bagged coosa? It looks awfully white. Then there is one darker area? Nervous I pulled too much resin out. Any comments?

How much vacuum were you pulling on the stack? IIRC I only go as low as 22-24" or so. More than that and it'll suck it all out of the stack. I stop feeding in resin and lower the vacuum when the part is about 80-85% filled and residual vacuum will continue the infusion without sucking out any resin into a trap.
Did you have a flow media or other resin absorbant material?

That glass was basically not able to be removed from the panel 4 years ago. I think I weave filled it before cutting and fairing pieces of it.
