CS25 Performance

Post by Seabass »

Hello everyone. I’m just curious if anyone here has first or even direct second hand experience with the CS25 performance. Im interested in running 30-50 miles offshore gomex into the morning 2-3’s. The boat is light for its size and has relatively low deadrise. My experience has been that heavy, high deadrise boats are softer in running into chop. Yes I know the deadrise debate but this is my experience. Perhaps the boat is balanced well and rides over the top of the wave well instead of plowing through the wave. I know Jacques was a very experienced designer and knew more about boats than I will ever know so perhaps he had something of this nature in mind when he designed it.

Any info you have would be much appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read my question.

First welcome to the forum.
The best answer I can give is for you to go to builders power boat section and close to the top is a build for a CS25. You can do a utube search and find a video or two on the boat. It was a heck of a build and he ran it through some prettty lumpy stuff.

Thanks very much. Exactly what I was looking for. I want to build one after i finish the current project.

Jacques mentioned in one of his posts that he made plans for the CS25 for foam sandwich. Im wondering how those might still be attainable. I emailed the website; will see what Reid has on this.

Thanks again.
