Reply to: "fishingdan"]Nice boat. What do you plan to do to it?

Hello fishingdan,
Sorry for slow response.
This boat was my father's boat and He decited hand it down to me
may be do to his age, he haven't used for long time.
However,
Last time my father took this boat out,
He scrubed bottom of boat on oyster bed
looks like crack line about 18" long(I'll try to take some pictures and post)
But, when I cut out the floor, I did not see any crack from inside
Only Hull is separated from stringer
Also, found few spots of plywood deck been roted.
Now I want to beef up the Hull and fill with floatation form
I like to go with 150 gal. fuel tank and re surfice the deck as well.

Hello members,
it was 2007 when I started this project,
since then My job required me to relocated to VA from NC in 2009
building new House, and been sick for few month and, lots working hours on job
couldn't do any work on boat til now
just dragging boat around all over because we moved twice since came to VA
But, we finally saddled in to New house we built and big enough Garage(Thanks to my wife for let me build that garage)
Originally my project was to repair quick short and cheap.
So, sometime ago still was in NC patched crack on the bottom and new gas tank
and I did cut out some rotted section of stringer and fitted in with fresh boards with thickened glue
then pour in 2 part form and installed sole with Nida-core honey comb boards
Ok, that was 2008 and last time I worked on that boat until this month.
Anyways,
when I walk by or think about that boat, it always bother me that stringer issue
and lots signs of resin shortage on factory glass work
So, I decided to re-start the restoration from scratch
from new stringers
I'm in prograss re moving cabin and deck also, forms i poured in.
Dear Members and tech supports people
please help me and educate me on this ongoing slow going project
it still be slow project but, this boat is part of our Family it will be fixed soon or later.
thank you

Cutting the 3/4" marine plywood for transom
Image

8' plywood was little short, added small pieces on each ends to offset joints.
Image

New Transom is glued on with 1 layer of 1708 to approx 3/16" thick outside factory skin
and 2 x 1708 for inside plus 2 x 12 oz tape for tabbing.
Image

4 x 1708 for build up to make even surface.
Image

Getting ready for grinding.
Image

Cut strips for Stringers.
Image

Laminated 14" x 20' total length for main(two inner) stringers.
Image

Two inner and two outer glued.
Image

Next is center stringer, ran out of time last week
hope have some more time this week to cut center stringer
and grinding the hull.
