A slot limit is when you can only keep a fish of a certain size. In this case it was 26 to 36 inches. Anything smaller or bigger had to be released. Mine was 35 inches! Ate it two nights in a row and it fed 9 people and I left some with my friend who had the boat.

I so do enjoy this slot eater tale. It reminds me of the time my Uncle Jim and I went to a resort in Ontario and found out they allowed zero northerns in their freezers. My uncle was furious and I told him, no problem, we'll fill the freezers with whitefish, and we did and the resort jerk was angry as hell. We took 21 home!cape man wrote: ↑Mon May 22, 2023 10:04 am A slot limit is when you can only keep a fish of a certain size. In this case it was 26 to 36 inches. Got to admit I'm jealous. My last road trip was the other direction, Anchorage to Ontario to get married 18 years ago.
