It sure looks like a crack to me when I looked at it as well. First thing that crossed my mind when I saw that picture. The ply might have some visual bands in it which make it appear to be a crack. Will await the answer.

Could be burn marks from dull router bit. I have also seen dark wood in the laminates also. I am sure it is nothing serious.Looks great. :D

Optical illusion, no cracks, this is very high grade marine ply. All parts are cut from BS 1008 (Lloyds certified and stamped) Okoume plywood. This wood just has a lot of color in the grain.
