The forum upgrade is complete. It was very uneventful. Please post issues in this thread.

Due to a high level of "bad actor" traffic on the community site Jaysen is implementing a forced verification to confirm that you are a human. This is a PITA and he hates it too. The 3.2 seconds it takes for the one time you have to do it every couple hours is much preferable to the hours we are losing to morons clogging the CPU on the servers. Jaysen is still looking to solve this a bit less intrusively and without cost to BBC. Hopefully the magic solution will appear out of thin air soon. Jaysen is already annoyed.

Couple of questions

Post by Cracker Larry »

How long should I let S3 primer cure before covering it with EMC primer?

How long should the EMC primer cure before top coating?

What type of roller do you recommend for the EMC top coats?

Thanks!

I would wait the same time you would wait for topcoat. At least a few days so all the water evaporates out of the S3.

On a thin coat, I have gone next day, but its probably a good idea to wait two

Data sheet says full cure in 72 hours. There is a link to the data sheet here...

I used the same West System style 1/4" foam nap. You can roll it on a good bit heavier than the Sterling.

Thanks Joel.

Not the answer I was hoping for, but the one I expected. Just finished the last coat of S3 this afternoon and was hoping to keep moving with the EMC tomorrow. Oh well, I reckon it's time to pull the engine off the Parker and get something done there for a few days.

Needed a painting break anyway 8) I'd rather be safe than have a problem later.
