EMC dry sailed

Hi all, wondering, the material sheet said the paint wasn't for underwater coatings, on a "normally" dry sailed boat that would see at most 3 weeks constant immersion once a year has anyone experienced any blistering or other ill effects? We generally like to stay on the move on the summer trip, but the boat will most likely live on the trailer too much.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge
Jay

Hi Jay,

All the paint companies are going to say the same thing on their tech data sheet in terms of the paint's application below the water line.

It takes a very long time for the paint (two part polyurethane topcoats) to become soft enough where it is damaged. It could be a couple weeks, it could be a couple months, but you wont get an answer (for liability reasons) from the manufacturer, other than "not for use below the waterline"
at most 3 weeks
I will say that if it was my boat, i would not be concerned

Shine, thanks, I suspect I will use his paint. Our goal is for our yet to be completed Core Sound to kinda match our Pacific Seacraft Orion in color.

Thanks for the help!
