Today we departed Magnetic Island, Townsville, North Quueensland and had an exhilerating 40 nautical mile downwind sail to Orpheus Island - first pic.
It's a stunningly beauitiful anchorage - second pic, so we'll loiter here until the weather is turning nasty, then scoot over to the Hinchinbrok Chanel, some seven nnutical miles to the north west (first picis north up). Hinchinbrock Chanel is BarraMan's home barra hunting ground.

I'm back in 'paradise', Michael and sorry I missed you. I had hoped to catch up with you somewhere in the Channel, but I have some issues to sort out with the tow vehicle. At this stage I'm not sure when I will be mobile again.
Hopefully we can cross paths on your way south!
Cheers
Lee

Thanks Tom and Lee.
Today we sailed and motored from Orpheus Island to the Hinchinbrook Chanel - first pic.
In the chanel, we dropped the pic at Haycock Island, one of our favourite all-weather anchorages - second pic.
Looking forward to catching up with you Lee when we are heading back south later in the year.

Beautiful! When are you heading back? We are actually heading south now but not planning to be home until October.

Thanks Fuzz, Cape Man and Jeff.
We're planning to start heading back home late September and to be back home in November, but the weather gods will dictate.

A few years ago a friend of mine and his mate over-nighted here (Haycock island in the Hinchinbrook Channel).
They were somewhat shocked to be woken in the wee hours of the morning by a large "lizard" trying to climb over the back of the boat to join them!
