Fuzz, I feel guilty about not maintaining a build thread and apologize for that. As you know, it ends up being a project that consumes you in every way. I devoted every ounce of energy I had to building her and my only regret is that I did a lousy job documenting it.
I have the utmost respect and I am thankful to all who share their build. The LB3 wouldn't have been possible without it.

Thank you for posting the pics, she looks great. Congratulations.
I work hard on my renderings to show how the boat will look but builders always end up with a boat looking much better than my drawings.

She's a beautiful boat. It sounds like your great-grandfather would be proud to have ridden with you!
Re: NV23 June 2017 Tercek
@Jacques, thank you for your timeless design. We knew it was the boat we wanted to build from the minute we saw your rendering. Sure we tweaked the pilot house a little but the LB3 is all NV23 from the gunnels on down. She's sturdy but light and agile with lots of space to move around on deck.

Outstanding another NV I love the closed transom and engine bracket . I thought long and hard about doing it that way.
I don't think anybody has built a NV and not added their own changes to the pilot house , and they all look good . Would love to
see some performance numbers and maybe even a video The boat is beautiful , great job

Re: NV23 June 2017 Tercek
I had her out on the bay in pretty calm water this morning and was able to open it up.
I have a Solas New Saturn 13.5x15 prop on the Yamaha 115 and came up with the following numbers...
1000 rpm - 4.4 mph
2000 / 8.1
3000 / 12.5
4000 / 21.2
5000 / 29.2
max rpm was just a tick under 6000, probably 5900 / 34.2 mph
The sweet spot in calm water (which doesnt happen very often in the bay behind LBI in NJ) seems to be ~4500 rpm when she's cruising at about 25 mph... burning 5 to 6 gph at that rpm. A little chop calls for backing off to about 3500 rpm. You can still do 18 to 20 mph and burn only 3.5 gph
I uploaded a video of her under way at https://youtu.be/hi38cwRIbWI
I mounted the GoPro on the transom handrail just in front of the motor.. not the best vantage point but gives you an idea of how stable the Novi is and how nice she rides...
