Re: Bama Build D15
look at this crazy stuff. The marine foam didn't expand as much as a figured on, (low temp maybe?) so I planned on capping it off with commercial foam similar to Great Stuf to fill the box. I ended up having to put 50 lbs on each one to hold it down(!) and they stiff walked on me. Came out the next morning to find this 2' high volcano
Re: Bama Build D15
Don't know what you used, but I've been told Great Stuff isn't closed cell foam and shouldn't be used on a boat.
That is one crazy looking volcano, not sure how that happened!

Re: Bama Build D15
hey pee-wee
I've read those posts about Great Stuf too. This product said it's water-proof and 4 x denser. It hardened up pretty well. Theres a full 2 qts of marine foam underneath, I just needed something to fill the top void. The expansion pressure caught me by surprise, it knocked my cubbies all out of wack.

thansks csotelo!
it's definetly a boat with a face only it's builder could love, but I'm having fun and learning tons. Been doing a lot of detail fixes and will be putting down cloth soon.

The "Peg Leg" is nearing completion. After many hours fairing the bottom, I blew it all by messing up the steel-flex super-slick 2000 bottom epoxy. That stuff is impossible. It should be bullet-proof after 4 coats, but man is it ugly. Good thing its on the bottom of the boat . another couple coats of 2 part primer/sealer and then the blue.
Trailer is in the driveway waiting for the flip!
