The forum upgrade is complete. It was very uneventful. Please post issues in this thread.

Due to a high level of "bad actor" traffic on the community site Jaysen is implementing a forced verification to confirm that you are a human. This is a PITA and he hates it too. The 3.2 seconds it takes for the one time you have to do it every couple hours is much preferable to the hours we are losing to morons clogging the CPU on the servers. Jaysen is still looking to solve this a bit less intrusively and without cost to BBC. Hopefully the magic solution will appear out of thin air soon. Jaysen is already annoyed.

This is a strictly inshore boat, for protected waters, bays, rivers and lakes and offshore only in good weather. The boat is strong but the deck is too exposed and the volumes too small for offshore cruising.
In the Med, conditions can change very quickly. You can use it offshore in good weather but be ready to run away from bad weather and seek protection.

I fish on Lake Superior in Minnesota in a little 16' open boat.

To facilitate this safely, I have a 2 horse reserve engine, a small electric motor, a hand paddle and a VHF marine radio and a cell phone and charger.

The lake is massive and dangerous in wind. The water temps there now are 46F. If you capsize; you die if not rescued.

The boat is not the question, but reserve systems and safety if propulsion is missing.

Keep that in mind before going to sea witha little 20 horse motor.
