1st Add motor wedges, our LM's don't have enough negative trim, the shims add 5 degrees of negative trim that allow you to tuck the motor under the to bring the nose down at higher speeds. Should work fine with your jack plate.
2nd get a 4 blade stern lift prop this also allows the boat to run up on the flat of the boat better. I just ordered a SS 13.25 X 17. Hopefully it will be my final prop test. The three blade props especially those with cupping or high rake will provide bow lift which is not what we want.

Any news on the new prop? I see you've started your conversion to remote steer

Yes I got the prop right where I want it, but before I say I’m done I just bought a set of smart tabs. The four blade prop gets me in the rpm range with good stern lift, but I still porpoise when I get over 34. I don’t think the boat was meant to go that fast, however I got the trim tabs and will give them a try. Four blade is the way to go. I think if you want to run fast with a three blade your going to need tabs.

More to come hopefully by next weekend.

Question for you on motor height. When you are running full how high do you have your motor? Right now I have my trim plate about even or a dash above the bottom of the boat. Because the hull is so flat I think I can go up a hole.

Thoughts?

I can tell you I can almost raise the JP all the way up and still run fine as long as i dont try to start trimming the motor up. I set the motor cavitation plate to even with the bottom per Yamaha rigging instructions. We are heading to carabelle Fl next week so Ill try to get some pictures and video for you but knowing that I think you could raise it a hole.

Cool thanks. After you run at high speed and trim the jake plate high up, It would be cool to understand how high the cavitation plate it from the hull bottom before you start sucking air.

I have the console primed hopefully I can get it painted and install all the components. I'll let you know if the smart tabs stop the high speed proposing.

If I have some calm water this coming week I'll mark where that starts to happen at high speed on the jack plate and then measure when I get back on the trailer. Should be easy to do. I've been researching that 13.25x17 prop you recommended and it seems really big for a 40hp. I'm trying to find a cheap used aluminum to try first just to see what it does. I think you are going to like having a remote steering at the console! Can't wait to see it

Video of me running with the atlas microjacker all the way up. I'm not at WOT because if you look you'll see my RPMs are borderline high. My SOG is 30 mph. I don't have the boat here to measure because we are moving this week so I left it at my brother's house but when I get it I'll measure and send you how high the cavitation plate is compared to the bottom when jacked all the way up

Another trip to carrabelle on the books. We ran all over the place. Caught a bunch of fish. Mostly short trout, a few keepers, some good size flounder, a few redfish, and of course lady fish, sharks and catfish. The boat did well. Made my first night run, that was kindof spooky yet peaceful. My oldest boy wanted to fish constantly to the point I would trade out and let my brothers or dad or mom or anyone that would take him take him. Great trip with great family time and mostly great weather. Had one small hiccup that was an easy fix. Control cable for shifting broke not letting me put the motor in gear. Luckily I was just putting in so took out and drove to eastpoint where I was overcharged for a cable that I replaced in less than an hour. Easy fix and made a big difference in shifting. Now I know what a cable going bad feels like!

I also put a video running on YouTube showing the jack plate up if interested https://youtu.be/Kl4jILGvVFg

Nice. I see two past Bateau builders and maybe three future ones.
