Flush hatch and gutters with corelite

Post by fallguy1000 »

I modeled some corelite 28# board today for gutters and hatches.

I want to build something fairly versatile.

Here is a sketch close to what we built today.

It uses too much core and the gutter seems a bit deeper than needed.

I think I will redraw this tomorrow to use less core and also be buildable closer to edges.

I don't know anything about foam so...that thick of foam and 28# corresponds to what thickness of plywood? Would that be the same as 3/4" or 1/2" but just lighter?

3/4 foam and 3/4 ply are close if you use a little beefier glass on the core

Here is a revised drawing that uses a lot less corelite. I forgot the rope drip edge, but still gonna do it.

Probably need some s/s pins in it for assembly...

Gonna build this one. Comments welcome.
